Welcome to Blackhill Farm Cottage self catering accommodation, an idyllic rural retreat on the edge of the Scottish Highlands in the beautiful Perthshire Countryside with on-site walking, fishing and cycling. The cottage sleeps up to 6 guests and we welcome well behaved pets.

Blackhill Farm Cottage sits in the middle of our 350 acre family farm, surrounded by open fields, woodland and the Highlands just a few miles to the north to give a wonderfully peaceful and secluded location for your Scottish holiday. The beautiful and traditional cottage has been tastefully and extensively refurbished to make it wonderfully comfortable and welcoming for all of our guests.

On the farm around the cottage there is so much to see and do, we have a selection of bikes available for guests to borrow as the cottage sits next to a 3.5 mile long cycle path. There is a small loch stocked with trout and various walking paths which not only give fantastic views but may allow you to catch a glimpse of the many birds and animals that live here including red squirrels and deer.

Blackhill Cottage is very easily accessible and gives great links to the Highlands just to north with their castles, distilleries and stunning mountain scenery. Edinburgh and Glasgow are also in easy reach and the city of Perth is under 10 miles away.

As well as plenty to see and do around the farm, there are a multitude of sights and activities for all tastes within close reach including adrenaline fuelled outdoor activities or wildlife tours in the Tay valley or Highland Perthshire, whisky distillery tours in Pitlochry or Aberfeldy, historic Scone Palace in Perth, visiting the recently opened V&A Museum in Dundee or strutting the golf links in St. Andrews.

Accommodation

The cottage sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms, (2 kingsize doubles and one twin).

The cottage is arranged over two floors with the well appointed kitchen, sitting room with log burning stove, twin bedroom and family bathroom, (bath, shower, wc and basin), on the ground floor. Upstairs leads to the two kingsize bedrooms as well as a separate wc.

There is parking at the cottage for up to 4 cars.

Well behaved dogs are welcome with prior notice.

Things to Do

The Cottage is well appointed with good broadband, digital TV channels, a selection of DVD’s and games for all ages.

Outside the enclosed garden is ideal for family get togethers with a picnic table and bbq.

For those wishing to explore a bit more we have a selection of mountain bikes for guests of all ages to borrow to use on the cycle route that runs through the farm. There are also a series of paths through the woods and fields which offer a great chance of seeing the plentiful wildlife that live here including deer, red squirrels, pine martens and brown hares.
